How to choose web hosting in Ghana without regretting it later

Price is the easiest thing to compare and the least useful. Here is what actually decides whether your site stays up.

Most hosting decisions are made on the monthly price, which is the one number that tells you almost nothing about whether your site will still be online in eighteen months.

Start with support. When a site goes down at 9pm before a product launch, the question is not how much you paid — it is whether anyone answers. Ask how support is reached, in which time zone, and what a realistic response time looks like.

Then ask about backups. Not whether backups exist, but how far back they go, how a restore is requested and how long it takes. A backup nobody has ever restored is a hope, not a plan.

Check what happens at renewal. Introductory pricing that triples in year two is common. Ask for the renewal rate in writing before you commit.

Finally, look at migration. A host that moves your existing site for free is telling you it expects to keep you. A host that charges for it is telling you something else.
